Bowood House & Gardens home of the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne is situated near Calne in Wiltshire. It houses a unique collection of historical artefacts, a wealth of unique items including Queen Victoria’s wedding chair, Napoleon’s death mask and an extensive art collection. There are 100 acres of beautiful parkland, designed by ‘Capability’ Brown, offering a lake, arboretum, pinetum and cascade.
Friday: A morning departure for an afternoon visit to Steam the Museum of the Great Western Railway for a highlight tour and entrance to the museum. Continue to your hotel where you arrive in plenty of time for dinner.
Saturday: After breakfast visit Lacock Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum and Village (entrance included) where you’ll have free time before continuing onto the magnificent Bowood House and Gardens. Where you have the afternoon to visit the house and explore the beautiful gardens. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Sunday: After breakfast depart your hotel and head through the beautiful Cotswolds on your journey home arriving at your agreed drop off point late afternoon /early evening.
