Scone Palace, Dundee, Edinburgh, Kilted Highland Safari & Forth Road Bridge
Sunday: A morning departure by coach for your journey to Blairgowrie arriving in the afternoon. Dinner in hotel.
Monday: After breakfast depart for the kilted Mountain Safari Rangers. The 4×4’s will transport you in comfort and safety into Europe’s last unspoilt wilderness. You should wear suitable warm clothing and sturdy shoes or boots and arm yourself with camera and binoculars to take in the breath taking mountain top scenery and experience the excitement of a four-wheel drive in a safe environment. Marvel at the scenery in a land steeped in history and breathtaking views with lots of photo opportunities. You may be lucky enough to see Majestic Red Deer, the famous grouse, the elusive mountain hare and the soaring golden eagle, but most of the entire safari will provide a new insight into this amazing natural wilderness. You stop off in a mountain chalet for a “wee” dram of whisky and shortbread. There will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and encounter our Barn Owl in a hands-on demonstration and have fun learning the secrets of this captivating phantom bird of the night time. During your visit lunch is also included. Returning to our hotel.
Tuesday: After breakfast we make our way to Scone Palace (entrance included) for a morning visit. Scone Palace has an exciting and colourful history as one of Scotland’s most important stately homes. Fifteen hundred years ago it was the capital of the Picts. In the intervening centuries, it has been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce. The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts and the grounds are renowned throughout the world, making this stately home one of the most popular tourist attractions in both Perth and Scotland. After lunch we make our way to Dundee for an afternoon visit where you’ll have free time to explore the new waterfront development. Returning to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Wednesday: After breakfast head north on a scenic journey through Glen Shee to Braemar where you’ll have free time. Before continuing onwards with a wonderful sightseeing tour of Royal Deeside with lunch (included) in Braemar continuing onwards to Ballater and a little time at leisure. Returning back to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Thursday: After breakfast we make our way to Edinburgh making our way over the Forth Road Bridge. You’ll have free time in Edinburgh. After lunch we make our way back to the Forth Road bridge, where you will be able to see the building of the 3rd bridge, before joining the “Maid of the Forth” for a cruise under the bridges towards Inchcolm Island to view various wildlife including seals, dolphins and puffins. Returning to your hotel for dinner.
Friday: After breakfast depart your hotel for a scenic journey home arriving home early evening.
