Guernsey, Herm Island, Sark, Tractor Train, Carriage Ride, Jersey, “Round Island”, St Brelade’s, St Ouen’s, & St Aubin’s
Spend a little longer in the Channel Islands and enjoy stays on both Jersey and Guernsey. Excursions to the smaller islands of Sark and Herm are included.
Thursday: A morning departure to make our journey to Durley Dean, Bournemouth for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Friday: An early morning departure to make our way to Poole harbour for our ferry crossing to Guernsey and transfer to the hotel. The island is steeped in wartime history and the legacy is a labyrinth of fortifications plus fascinating museums that vividly recreate everyday life in the occupied islands. Dinner in hotel. (Our driver will escort this tour and our coach will remain in Poole).
Saturday: After breakfast you have the morning at leisure on Guernsey followed by an afternoon excursion to the beautiful Herm Island. There are no cars and no pressure, just an active policy of preserving the island’s pristine natural environment and peacefulness. Enjoy beach walks, gift shops at the harbour plus the Mermaid Tavern. After time at leisure on Herm return to St Peter’s Port for transfer to the hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Sunday: After breakfast a full day excursion to Sark. On arrival transfers by tractor-train are provided up the hill from the port to the village centre. This sleepy island has no cars, just bicycles and horse drawn carts. Included is a two hour carriage ride around the island with stops to take in beautiful coastal views and La Seigneurie Gardens (entrance approx £4.00 not included). Then continue back to the hotel. Dinner in Hotel.
Monday: We make our journey for the Ferry crossing to Jersey and transfer to the hotel. Jersey is renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery, peaceful green lanes and fields dotted with Jersey Cows. Dinner in hotel.
Tuesday: After breakfast you have a full day “Round Island” excursion which includes the beautiful bays of St. Brelade’s and St. Ouen’s, the Corbiere Lighthouse and charming harbour village of St. Aubin’s. You then have the opportunity to visit Jersey Pearl, where discount vouchers are provided, before returning to the hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Wednesday: After breakfast you have a day at leisure on Jersey. Walk via the pretty Howard Davis Park for shopping in central St Helier. Alternatively take the convenient ‘Hop On Hop Off’ bus for visits to attractions. Dinner in hotel.
Thursday: After breakfast journey home, stopping on route. Arriving at your agreed drop off point late evening.
