Falmouth, St Agnes, Marazion, St Ives, Lizard, Trelissick Garden, Trengwainton Gardens, Lost Gardens of Heligan & Trebah Gardens

Cornwall has magnificent golden sandy beaches, breathtaking views from majestic cliff tops, quaint historic stone built harbours and villages and tranquil wooded river estuaries. It is also famous for its wonderful gardens. To discover this area with a difference we offer a tour based in the unspoilt village of St Agnes situated 12 miles down the coast from Newquay and 18 miles from Falmouth.

National Trust Trelissick Garden

Beautifully positioned at the head of the Fal estuary, the estate commands panoramic views over the area. At its heart is the garden, which has year- round colour. This modern garden was created within shelter belts planted 200 years ago and it is constantly evolving, with new planting and fresh ideas. The iconic Water Tower was built for irrigation and fire-control; now the lavatories are flushed with rainwater stored underground in modern reservoirs. Heat is extracted from kitchen appliances and the Sun to provide hot water and heating.

National Trust Trengwainton Gardens

A 25 acre sheltered garden bursting with exotic trees and shrubs. The walled kitchen garden will inspire creativity with your own growing space and wide open views across Mount’s Bay will have you reaching for your camera. Lose yourself amongst winding, wooded paths, the stream or simply find a quiet corner to breathe in the peace of this special place.

Trebah Gardens ‘Garden of Dreams’

This dramatically beautiful 26-acre garden is listed among the 80 finest in the world. A sub-tropical paradise it is home to a unique collection of rare exotic plants, trees and shrubs winding down to a private and secluded beach on the Helford River. A stream cascades over waterfalls and water gardens with ponds full of giant Koi carp then through two acres of massed blue and white hydrangeas. Glades of huge 100-year-old ferns mingle with a forest of rhodedendrons, magnolias and camellias under a canopy of ancient oaks and beeches. A garden for all seasons with colour and scent all year round..

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

Seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years is one of the most mysterious estates in England. The eighty acres of stunningly beautiful gardens and grounds have enabled this award winning garden to become one of the most popular group attractions in Cornwall. At the end of the 19th century its thousand acres were at their zenith; a few years later bramble and ivy were already growing a green veil over this “Sleeping Beauty”. Now restored to its former glory, Heligan is truly “a garden for all seasons”
