Beth Chatto Gardens, RHS Garden Hyde Hall, Lavenham & River Cruise
Sunday: A morning departure we make our way to Essex stopping en-route at the city of Cambridge continuing onwards to our hotel the Five Lakes Hotel, Colchester. Dinner in hotel.
Monday: After breakfast we make our way to Waldringfield to board MV Jahan for a cruise on the calm waters of the River Deben. After our cruise we visit Woodbridge, the largest market town on the river. We continue onwards for a visit to the Beth Chatto Gardens, which were once an overgrown wasteland; the gardens are an inspiration to all visitors. Returning to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Tuesday: After breakfast we make our way to Lavenham for a guided walking tour, known as ‘England’s Finest Medieval Village’ with its quaint timber framed Tudor buildings. We continue onwards to Flatford before visiting the delightful village of Dedham. Returning to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Wednesday: After breakfast we make our way to the RHS Garden Hyde Hall for a morning visit. This eclectic, yet fine garden with wonderful panoramic views over Essex which often surprises the visitor. Continue onwards to the seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, the home of the longest pier where you will have free time to stroll along the promenade or visit one of the town’s shopping centres. Returning to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.
Thursday: After breakfast we make our journey home arriving at your agreed drop off point.
