Make a memorable trip to Belgium where it’s the 100th anniversary for the end of fighting in World War 1, the ‘War to End All Wars’. During the First World War, Ypres was the site of a series of battles that were decisive in the outcome of the ‘War to End All Wars’. It is difficult to imagine the suffering and the sacrifice that took place. You will visit cemeteries where soldiers from both sides, Allied and German, lay to rest.

This 3 star hotel is situated in the town centre, the hotel has a lounge area, bar and restaurant. All bedrooms are en-suite with bath, hairdryer, TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, tea & coffee facilities. Lift to 3 floors.



FRIDAY: An early morning departure by coach to Dover for a short sea crossing to Calais then travelling onwards to our hotel Novotel Ieper Centrum Hotel, Belgium. Dinner at Brasserie Kazematten, Ypres.

SATURDAY TO SUNDAY: Excursions included:-
A Visit to In Flanders Field Museum

A 3 hour Battlefields Guided Tour – taking 14-18 Route around Ypres including Essex Farm, Lanemarck German Cemetary & Tyne Cot Cemetery.

A day fully guided visiting The Somme Battlefields including Lochnager Crater, Thiepval Memorial and Newfoundland Park.

MONDAY: After breakfast a day at leisure to use the hotel’s fitness suite, maybe take a walk in the town. Dinner at Brasserie Kazematten, Ypres.

TUESDAY: Departing after breakfast we travel for our return sailing from Calais to Dover and onwards to your original departure point.
