Discovering Jersey

ITINERARY

We depart from your preferred pick up point and make our way south for our first over night stay at the Marsham Court hotel (passengers advised to pack an overnight bag).

After breakfast we travel to Poole where the coach remains and the driver will escort passengers on the ferry over to Jersey. On arrival in Jersey we transfer to the Merton Hotel.

We start our Jersey discovery with a full-day tour, taking in some of the island’s most spectacular bays, including St Ouen and St Brelade’s. You’ll see some fascinating sights, including the Corbiere Lighthouse, St Elizabeth Castle and St Matthew’s (glass) Church and some picturesque villages, including St Aubin. Returning to our hotel for dinner.

This morning we take an educational and emotional journey through the five years of German occupation during WWII at the Jersey War Tunnels, a former WWII underground military hospital. In the afternoon we visit the La Mare Wine Estate Jersey’s award-winning sustainable vineyard, distillery & organic cider estate. Here we have a tour of the vineyards whist enjoying samples of there Award-winning wines. They are available to purchase in there shop along with Cider, Apple Brandy, Cream Liqueur, fruit liqueurs, mouth-watering fudges, luxury   chocolates and delicious preserves such as their famous Jersey Black Butter. Returning for dinner in the hotel.

Today we visit The Botanic Gardens at Samarès Manor which were created in the 1920s. This morning’s visit gives the opportunity to enjoy the various aromas and colours. The gardens feature various themed sections, including a herb garden, Japanese garden, and a willow labyrinth. In the afternoon we enjoy an afternoon tea at the luxurious St Brelade’s Bay Hotel with views overlooking the picturesque bay of St. Brelade’s. Returning to the hotel for dinner

After breakfast we catch the ferry back to Poole for our overnight stay at The Suncliff Hotel.

 

THE MARSHAM COURT HOTEL, BOURNEMOUTH **** – All bedrooms are ensuite and have TV, ironing facilities and tea and coffee are available in every room. Hotel has a lift.

The Merton Hotel, St Helier *** – Located just 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of St Helier. The hotel offers two restaurants, large open-space lounge, sun terrace and gardens. All bedrooms are ensuite. Facilities include a bar, indoor aquadome, lift to most floors which all adds up to a relaxing environment for an enjoyable holiday.

THE SUNCLIFF HOTEL, BOURNEMOUTH *** – All bedrooms are ensuite and have a TV, and tea and coffee are available in all rooms. Hotel has a lift.
