This morning we head west into Norwich – a city in England’s Norfolk County. Northeast of the centre, you’ll find the medieval Norwich Cathedral – a Romanesque building with ornate cloisters. Two imposing gates, St. Ethelbert’s and Erpingham, lead to the Tombland area, once a Saxon marketplace. A visit to the cathedral is a must along with cobbled Elm Hill and the Castle Mall shopping complex. We have time for lunch (at own cost)and to explore before returning via the charming Norfolk Broads for dinner in the hotel.
A free day to explore and discover the delights of Great Yarmouth. This resort town on the east coast of England is known for its long sandy beach – perfect for a stroll on a fine day or why not visit The Time and Tide Museum with it’s captivating journey through the rich maritime heritage of this vibrant coastal town. Dinner in hotel.
Today’s excursion takes us first down the coast and to Suffolk, to the timeless and delightful resort of Southwold. Little changed since Victorian times, Southwold is a small town and civil parish on the English North Sea coast. It lies at the mouth of the River Blyth within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Later we head north to Oulton Broad and Lowestoft, the most easterly point in England, before heading back to our hotel for dinner.
